Detailed Information
Meet Lulu
Lulu is a gorgeous blue merle tri-color female Multigen Petite Mini Bernedoodle who is expected to mature in the 15–20 lb range. She has a loose, wavy, non-shedding coat and beautiful eyes with one and a half blue eyes. Lulu was born August 15th and will be taking part in our 12-Week Started Puppy Training Program. She will be finished with training and ready to go home January 2nd.
During weeks 8–15, our puppies transition away from their mom and littermates and begin learning the routines and boundaries that create the foundation for training. They are handled with purpose every day, taught a consistent daily routine, started on potty training and crate training, and taught how to settle calmly. We also work on appropriate puppy manners, including teaching them not to bite or use their mouths on people.
Socialization is a major focus during this first stage. Puppies are properly socialized with other puppies, adult dogs, cats and people and are exposed to different everyday experiences to help build confidence. They are also groomed weekly for training purposes, helping them become comfortable with the handling and grooming that will be a regular part of their lives.
The final 4–5 weeks transition into our basic obedience boot camp and public socialization phase. This is when puppies begin formal leash training and are taught both loose-leash walking and heel. They learn sit, down, stay, come, place, wait and kennel, while continuing to build on their crate training and potty routine.
During this stage, puppies also begin regular car rides and public outings where they practice their training around real-world sights, sounds, people and distractions. They learn how to settle calmly both at home and in public so they can more easily become part of their family’s everyday life.
By the time Lulu completes the program, she will be fully crate trained and established on a consistent potty routine with us, with a strong foundation in basic obedience, loose-leash walking, heel, manners, confidence and real-world socialization.
Lulu will be ready to go home January 2nd. For more information about Lulu and our Started Puppy Program, contact Becca at 619-471-5183.
