Started Puppies
At Shady Oak Doodles, we offer our Started Puppy Training Program for families looking for an older, trained Bernedoodle puppy with an established foundation before coming home. Puppies enter our program at 8 weeks of age and may continue training through 20 weeks. During this important developmental period, each puppy receives hands-on training, socialization and consistent daily structure designed to make the transition into their new family as smooth as possible.
Our Started Puppies work on crate training, potty training, leash walking and basic obedience commands including sit, down, stay, come, place, wait and kennel. Puppies also learn how to settle calmly at home and in public, ride comfortably in the car and develop appropriate manners around people and other dogs. Training is incorporated into everyday life so puppies learn skills they can carry with them into their new homes.
For puppies remaining in our program through 20 weeks of age, training continues as their confidence, attention span and abilities develop. By 20 weeks, puppies are fully vaccinated and have received valuable additional time for socialization, confidence building and real-world experiences. While every puppy is an individual and training must continue after going home, our goal is to provide families with a strong foundation and a puppy that is better prepared for the transition into family life.
Our Started Puppy program is available for select Shady Oak Doodles puppies and is especially helpful for families who would prefer to skip some of the most demanding early puppy stages. Located in San Diego County, California, we work with families locally and throughout the United States. Private flight-nanny delivery is available to many major U.S. airports, allowing families outside Southern California to bring home one of our trained Bernedoodle puppies.
