Opal is taking part in our started puppy training program which is a comprehensive 12-week curriculum designed to guide puppies through crucial developmental stages, starting from 8 weeks old and continuing until they’re 20 weeks. This structured program introduces puppies to crate training, helping them learn to feel secure and comfortable in their own space. Potty training is a key focus, building consistency and reducing accidents to prepare them for their new homes. We also work on leash training, making outdoor walks enjoyable and manageable. Throughout the program, puppies are taught essential commands like sit, down, stay, place, come, wait, and kennel, ensuring they understand the basics of obedience and cooperation.

In addition to these foundational skills, our program emphasizes the importance of teaching puppies to “settle,” both at home and in public settings. This helps them develop a calm demeanor, making outings and visits to new environments more enjoyable for everyone. Puppies are also given regular practice riding in the car to ensure they’re comfortable traveling, whether for short trips or longer journeys. Socialization with other dogs is a vital component, as it helps puppies learn proper interaction, building their confidence and teaching them to respect boundaries in a healthy, positive way.

When they graduate from our program, our started puppies are fully vaccinated and equipped with the skills needed to thrive in their new homes. They leave us well-prepared to integrate smoothly into their families, bringing their training and confidence into all aspects of daily life. This early investment in their education and socialization gives them a strong foundation, ensuring they’re ready for any adventure or challenge that life has in store.
