I was so worried to add a puppy to our family because we have an older dog (15) that means so much to us and we didn’t want his “golden years” to be ruined by a pup. We have 4 kids and an incredibly busy life, but Louie (previously Zero) was the perfect addition!

He has all the qualities that we were looking for when we started researching puppies. He’s great with the kids, loves Boobum (our older dog) but gives him space, and is just an all around sweet, playful, great puppy!

Becca was easy to work with and gave him a great start on all the things that mattered to our family. He was easily poppy trained, and we are working on all of his basic skills, easy to groom, and overall we couldn’t be more pleased with him.

I have the most well-behaved sweet tempered Micro mini Burnedoodle that I got from Becca at Shady Oaks. If you’re able to consider a pre-trained Burnedoodle it just doesn’t get any better. But I think the biggest testament was yesterday at the dog park in Carlsbad. Literally, this is true. A beautiful dark apricot Burnedoodle came in - Beautiful face, perfect confirmation almost as pretty as mine. I thought he must be very young because his coloring was still so strong and a lot of this breed fades quite a bit (they will all fade some, but mine has held better than most). Anyway, I remarked on how beautiful her dog was and asked her where she got it. Shady Oaks. And it was a year and a half old. Our dogs are probably cousins!

We’re extremely happy with our Mini Bernedoddle puppy we purchased from Becca at Shady Oaks Doddles. It is obvious she got lots of attention and some training her first eight weeks at Shady Oaks. Our puppy came litter box potty trained for her overnight stays in her 3’ x 6’ play pen we purchased with little whining or crying. She is completely comfortable spending her days in the play pen too. We take her out every one to two hours for potty training, she already knows the word potty and is learning quickly to do her business outside. Becca gave us detailed instruction's during our meet and greet with our puppy and sent us home with written notes as well. Our puppy is curious, attentive and secure and to top it off she just soooo cute, loving and adorable!

Sophie is 6 months old and is the sweetest, loving and well socialized puppy. Her temperament is beyond expectation. This is all due to the ‘started training program’ Becca at Shady Oak Doodles has designed to prepare pups for their future homes. Her final 3 1/2 weeks with trainer Wanda was the icing on the cake. She truly cares about her process, and the detailed introduction we received to continue training at home was exemplary. Sophie knows all her commands. Her placement ‘down’ in public is insanely good. People are shocked at how well she ‘stays’ while other dogs or people are milling around her. She also knows how to play like a champ, especially chasing and loving on her new office doggie boyfriend’s Bossin and Dutch! While Sophie was crate trained, she didn’t love the concept for the first week at home. Miraculously on day 7 she went right into her box at night without a peep since. She was trained to ‘place’ with a tie down which is very helpful when you need to complete tasks around your house. Potty training is currently at about 90% with only a few accidents here and there. She has never chewed anything other than her own toys, and I’ve already taught her to stay out of my closet. Honestly, I sometimes forget that Sophie is still a puppy because she’s so perfect – most of the time :-). Highly recommend this program.

I got my sweet Benny from Shady Oak Doodles in November 2024, and from the very beginning, he has been such a loving and gentle soul. Wanting to give him a companion, I later brought home Jack, an Aussiedoodle—also trained by the amazing Wanda. I wasn’t sure how Benny would react, but from the moment they met, they became best friends. Their dispositions are incredibly sweet, and they’ve brought so much joy and love into my life.

I’m especially grateful for the excellent training both dogs received. They are well-mannered, calm and happy, which is a true testament to the care and professionalism at Shady Oaks. Becca is simply the best—she is deeply committed to raising beautiful, well-socialized dogs.

We can’t adequately describe how happy we are with our mini Bernedoodle from Shady Oak. As a first time dog owner temperament was really important to me. Becca listened to what my family needed and gave me honest feedback about her available dogs. She is no nonsense and juggling a lot so she is not going to coddle you but trust in the process and you will be thrilled with your pup. Truly beautiful and sweet—all of them (we spent an hour with five other pups and could see how we had the perfect one for us but that everyone felt that way).

We brought home our sweet Bernedoodle, Penny, at 22 weeks old as a started trained puppy, and she has been an incredible addition to our family. She’s well-behaved, affectionate, and so gentle with our young children. From the moment we brought Penny home, it was like she was meant to be ours. She settled in quickly, sleeps through the night, is doing great with potty training, does not chew furniture and walks beautifully on a leash. Penny is calm inside the house but playful and fun outside—the perfect balance. It’s clear Becca (and Penny’s trainer, Wanda) put so much thought and care into early training and socialization for her. We’re beyond grateful for the amazing foundation she was given—she’s the perfect fit for our home! Furthermore, I’ve had a couple of questions for Becca after bringing Penny home and each time she has taken the time to personally call me. She’s a busy momma and business owner and still makes the time to answer follow up questions. Just above and beyond! If you’re considering a started puppy from Shady Oak, you will 100% be so happy with your decision. 11/10 worth the investment!

There is just something amazingly special about Georgee! Could it be that both her parents were also amazing, that she was born and nurtured in a loving environment, the cutest pup ever, and that she’s just so smart and funny! Or maybe it was her early training with pups by her side, her second mom, Becca, guiding her way, day after day…working to help her be the best little girl ever! The well designed and supportive final step, spending her 4th month in concentrated training with the incredible trainer, her 3rd mom, Wanda, by her side, telling her how amazing she is, all day long, as she went through training exercises that have carried her to now!

I’m the lucky one, she is trained to shine, and shine she does! She has never jumped up, scratched or destroyed anything, except an old flip flip, my fault! I took my eye off her for too long! She loves everyone except the gardener! Georgee’s new veterinarian is madly in love with her, and it’s mutual! She’s healthy, so happy, content with herself, and well behaved! She is what my daughter would call a push button dog…I give her a command and she can’t wait to please me! I do practice everyday with her, that makes all the difference! Potty training was a breeze, tie outs, a must, invaluable! I take her everywhere, even my exercise class!

I would do exactly the same thing all over again…. the puppy, all the training, and Shady Oak Doodles with Becca and Wanda…

It was a hard, long wait, it was sort of an expensive date, the best things in life aren’t necessarily a bargain! Love, nurturing and caring are priceless!

I can tell by Honey’s relaxed personality that she was loved and cared for very well. She was immediately comfortable with me and my four other dogs. This summer, we got our first ever family dog: a mini bernedoodle from Shady Oaks Started Puppy program. Becca, from Shady Oaks took the time to understand our family (first time dog owners, not super active)… and matched us with a super mellow dog that loves cuddling. As a first time dog owner, with both parents working a lot, the Started Puppy Program was a no brainer. When our dog came home to us, he was already potty trained (we’ve had him for two weeks with zero accidents) and sleeping through the night in the crate. He is very well leashed trained and knows the essential commands. To be clear, we still have to do the work of reinforcing his training, practicing, and being consistent.. but it feels like the difference between bringing home a newborn child versus a toddler. I highly recommend the Started Puppy program to all first time dog families, busy households, or anyone who wants a dog that they can easily take in public. The foundational training is excellent!

I'm so glad that I got my puppy from Shady Oak Doodles! I adopted a "started puppy" named Chloe. A started puppy = a puppy who has been crate-trained, potty-trained, and obedience-trained (by professionals) before you pick them up at 16 weeks. Practically speaking, that has meant no accidents, no sleepless nights, and a puppy that both loves her crate and walked well on a leash from Day 1. Notably, Becca socialized the "started puppies" so they are comfortable around kids, other dogs, loud noises (yes, including fireworks), vacuum cleaners, crowds, groomers, vets, restaurants, etc... We regularly have people shooting off M-80's near our home and our puppy doesn't respond. While minor, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that our puppy has never jumped on our furniture (and we have a very inviting and comfortable white couch...).

I also appreciate that Becca sent us home with everything we needed for our puppy to thrive (food, bowls, toys, leash, collar, crate, blanket with her mom's smell on it, bully sticks, a bag of treats, a raised "place" bed, vet records, schedule, instructions, microchip info, etc....).

I travelled to their facility twice and found them to be a responsible, ethical and professional breeder. The facility is impressive, their team is dedicated, and Becca is a confident leader. I recommend Shady Oaks fully and without reservation if you are looking for a Bernadoodle puppy. And I recommend a "started puppy" for anyone who can't (or doesn't want to) do the hard work of potty, crate, and obedience-training a puppy during weeks 8 - 16 of the puppy's life. Being able to pick up a puppy who has been professionally trained was AMAZING. It's an incredible service and I'm thankful that Shady Oaks Doodles offers it.

UPDATE: It’s been one year since we adopted Chloe and she continues to be an absolute delight! She now has her adult coat and her color hasn’t faded at all. She also continues to have a calm demeanor, plays well with other dogs, and is excellent with children. We are so happy that we got a “started puppy” from Shady Oaks!

We purchased a micro Bernedoodle from Becca at Shady Oak Doodles back in March. We decided to purchase the additional 'started' training program, since with 3 kids of our own, we wouldn't have the time or patience to train a puppy. We picked up "Penny" a couple weeks ago from Becca's trainer outside San Diego and couldn't be happier. We recently took Penny to a July 4th parade with lots of other dogs and loud noises, and she was so calm and good-natured. We've been told by multiple strangers at the dog park how calm our puppy is compared to most 5-month-old dogs. And tonight, even with fireworks, she was easy-going and didn't bark once. She is very sweet-natured with our three young children, who sometime give her very tight squeezes, and is great on leash. I have not seen an ounce of aggression - she truly just wants to make us happy and hang out with the family as much as possible. In our eyes, the training was completely worth the investment. Highly recommend Becca and the Shady Oak Doodle team!

We have been fortunate to welcome two (2) Shady Oak Doodles into our family. We were so in love with our first (female standard) bernedoodle that we added a second (male standard) bernedoodle a few months later. We cannot say enough about the joy these amazing dogs have brought to our lives.

The dogs have different personalities but, like all Shady Oak puppies, they are both incredibly gentle, friendly, easy going, playful, obedient and loving. We seamlessly introduced the second puppy and within minutes they were playing and snuggling together. This is a true testament to the thoughtful breeding of Shady Oak Doodles.

Both of our dogs were Started Puppies. We made this decision as first-time dog owners living in NYC. Having a Started Puppy was truly a blessing and took away a lot of the stress that any new pet can bring. Becca provided us with regular pictures and videos that made the waiting for their arrival SO fun and exciting. Becca ensures that the entire process of welcoming a Started Puppy is incredibly simple. Both dogs traveled across county in the loving care of Delifurry.

Both dogs are wonderful on leash and in the car. They play off leash with other dogs at the park and have a blast. The dogs are also stunningly beautiful and we get showered with compliments EVERY single time we go outside. If you are thinking of adding a puppy to your family look no further. Shady Oak Doodles is truly the best.

I recently purchased a “started puppy” from Shady Oak Doodles & it is the best decision I’ve EVER made!! Becca is such an easy going, friendly, & very informative breeder. She made the purchasing process easy with step by step directions. While Ollie was completing his training, Becca would send me videos & pictures as updates. She answered every question in a timely fashion via text & phone calls. I felt extremely comfortable throughout the whole process! After Ollie came home, Becca continued to answer any and all questions that would pop up (I haven’t had a dog since childhood)! Nobody can believe my puppy is 6 months old!! He is SO well behaved in public & is such a sweet boy. I haven’t had any accidents in the house, as he is both potty trained and crate trained!! This is the best money I have ever spent & I cannot say enough great things about Shady Oaks & Becca. If you are thinking of getting a bernedoodle, I cannot recommend this “started puppy program” enough!! It has been the smoothest transition. I will definitely be getting another dog one day from them…truly THE BEST!!!

We purchased one of Shady Oaks Micro Mini Bernedoodles that had completed their started puppy program. We picked her up about 2 weeks ago and we are over the moon happy! She is a beautiful dog and the training is amazing. She is still a puppy and bonding with us with no problem but is crate trained, potty trained, walks beautiful on a leash, understands going to her bed or other designated space, loves my grandkids and get along fabulously with our neighbors doodle!

Rebecca’s program and her puppies are amazing in every way!

The only draw back is she is so cute and well behaved that it takes us twice as long to go anywhere with her because everyone wants to stop and see her!

Love our pup from Shady Oaks! You can really tell that these pups are well loved and taken care of, I also love that its family run and the pups are around kids! We received pic updates of our puppy while we waited for her to be old enough to come home and Becca answered any and all questions we had. When we went to shady oaks we were impressed by their facility- clean with tons of space for the dogs. Our pup is almost 10mos and has been the best, she's goofy, happy and smart-took to training like a champ. 10/10 cannot recommend Shady Oaks enough!

Let me start by saying I went into the dog hunt process with no idea what I was doing. As a first time dog mom (and a single dog mom at that) I of course wanted to make sure I found the right puppy for me. I did tons of research on different breeders across the country. Once I found Shady Oak, I went through their entire website and Instagram. I wanted to see the past litters and how they look as they mature. I knew I had found not only the right breeder, but the perfect puppy for me that was available. The whole process was seamless and I was able to schedule a day to meet my future pup. Becca was extremely helpful and made me feel so comfortable from the beginning. She sent me home with all the necessary first time dog mom items! I am so beyond obsessed with my Bernedoodle and couldn’t imagine my life without him. Best decision I’ve ever made!

I can’t even count how many times I’ve recommended shady oak to people that have stopped me mid walk with my dog asking where I got him from. He is the most adorable little doodle out there!

If you are looking for a Bernedoodle Shady Oak Doodles is where you MUST go. Before we even get to the dogs, Becca, the owner, is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and honest. It is clear right from the start that she knows what she is talking about and that she truly loves all of her dogs.

Now for the dogs...I got a standard, tricolor merle Bernedoodle. He is unbelievably gorgeous, one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen. You may think that I am biased but I am stopped every single time I take him out by multiple people paying him compliments. His fur is soft and fluffy and I have yet to find a single strand of shedded fur in my house.

He was a "started" puppy which means he went through their 12 week training program. Spending the extra money for the “started” dog was one of the best decisions I have ever made. From day one he has been so well-behaved, he is amazing around children, he is housebroken, sleeps through the night in his crate and has one of the best overall demeanors of any dog I have ever encountered. I bring him to school everyday to drop off my kids and he allows every kid to come up and pet him and hug him. People are even more astounded by his temperament that they are by his looks.

There are truly not enough good things that I can say about this dog and about Shady Oak Doodles.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say form the day we reserved our puppy to picking up and now today 8 months later! Our mini bernedoodle is now 8 months old! She is 25 lbs of pure goofy snuggles! She was so easy to train and has been such a joy to add to our family. She is already amazing off leash and loves to play fetch! She is a Velcro dog and loves to follow us around the house! She literally LOVES every dog and person she meets and is a crowd favorite everywhere she goes. We get asked often where we got her . She is completely non shedding and has the softest coat. We haven’t found an activity she doesn’t like and accompanies us on all of our adventures.
